We are honored to announce that Dr. Kevin Knuth, a member of the Society’s Board of Advisors, will deliver the 2025 J. Allen Hynek Distinguished Lecture, our annual flagship event dedicated to advancing the scholarly study of UAP in the spirit of Dr. Hynek’s legacy.

Dr. Knuth is a Professor of Physics at the University at Albany (SUNY), Editor-in-Chief of Entropy, and a former NASA scientist. His research spans the foundations of physics, quantum information, autonomous robotics, exoplanet discovery, and UAP. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers and appeared in major UAP documentaries on Netflix and National Geographic.

In this year’s Hynek Lecture, Dr. Knuth will trace the emerging scientific movement to monitor and analyze UAP, dispelling common misconceptions and offering a comprehensive overview of global efforts to study the phenomenon. Drawing on historical records, physical evidence, sensor data, and behavioral analyses, he will demonstrate that UAP are a real and recurring class of phenomena observed by scientists, recorded over centuries, and exhibiting performance characteristics that appear to defy known technological limits.

This event continues the Hynek Lecture tradition of championing intellectual rigor and academic courage in the pursuit of understanding anomalous phenomena.
