Review of The Edge of Reality
My overall impression is that the it is clear that Dr's Hynek and Vallee were exceptional UFO (now UAP) researchers who helped advanced the study into this phenomena through their dedication, and advancements early use of computer technology to automate the digital input, storage, and printing of UFO cases into a searchable database, expansion of the possible explanations of the phenomena (Vallee), and creation of the first widely adopted Close Encounter Classification System, founder of Center for UFO Studies -CUFOS (Hynek).
I was stunned about the accuracy of their predictions of the future directions\likely outcomes (especially in the last chapter) given that these were made 51 years ago.
I was also pleasantly amused at the levity displayed during the back-and-forth nature of the discussion.
There were several important cases that I learned about, which also made this a great reference for my bookshelf.
I consider both to be visionary foundational leaders in this field; that began the long transition of UFOs as a topic of science fiction at best to the delusional rantings of unstable individuals at worst.
