Leslie Kean, An interesting conversation to look forward to, from one with a solid background of credible reporting.

Thomas Kuhn, in his 1962 book “The Structure of scientific revolutions” offered his view that paradigm changes in our understanding of nature do not emerge from steady incremental advances in technologies, but from totally unexpected developments, and from non-establishment sources. Faraday the bookbinder being an example of one who without a formal education, followed his intuition and came up with some original ideas which James Clerk Maxwell embodied in his equations on electromagnetism.

When will the next major paradigm change take place, and from where? The next few years may well be critical, and the next paradigm change based on Kuhn’s historical perspective, is now overdue!
